Interior

The new Ranger continues the fourth Ranger generation introduced for the 2019 model year, but arrives with some rather big changes. One of them is the retiring of the SuperCab. All Ranger models now come with the SuperCrew, which is a five-passenger cab that provide more than 43 inches of front legroom and about 35 inches of rear legroom. Cloth seating, air conditioning, a 10-inch center touch screen, in-cab Wi-Fi hotspot and a six-speaker audio system are standard. Options include zoned automatic climate control and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Lariat adds leather seating and a premium B&O audio system with 10 speakers and a subwoofer.

Exterior

As mentioned, every 2024 Ford Ranger now has the crew cab with four full-size doors and which is paired with a 5.5-foot bed with integrated tiedowns. Seventeen-inch aluminum wheels are standard. The Lariat has 18-inch wheels, and there are various wheel designs and finishes to choose from depending on the trim level. There are also a wide range of options through which you can customize your exterior, including running boards, cargo management rails, wind deflectors and splash guards.

Mechanical

Push-button start and remote keyless access with remote tailgate release are standard equipment. Remote engine start is optional and included later in the lineup. An electronic-locking rear differential is optional with the XL, XLT and Lariat and standard with the Raptor. The Raptor also a Watts-Link rear suspension, Fox racing shock absorbers and six upfitter switches.

Powertrain

Rear-wheel drive is standard. Part-time four-wheel drive is optional. Full-time four-wheel drive is standard with the Raptor. The standard engine is a 2.3L EcoBoost with auto start-stop technology. It makes 270 horsepower, and 310 pound-feet of torque. The Raptor instead has a 3.0L EcoBoost that makes 405 hp and 430 lb.-ft., and all models have a 10-speed automatic transmission. Class IV trailering equipment is available, and with that upgrade, the Ranger can tow up to 7,500 pounds.

Safety

Sync 4 and a 10.1-inch infotainment touch screen with all of the bells and whistles modern customers expect are included standard. A 12.4-inch touch screen is available. A rearview camera system and forward collision alert with automatic emergency braking are standard. Options include a 360-degree surround-view camera, adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Models with trailering equipment get a trailer brake controller and trailer backup assist. The cruise control system includes lane centering, stop and go and speed sign recognition.
